Trip to the Ikano Power Centre Mall

We went to the IKEA today! It was not all that different from the IKEA back home - just as huge and inexpensive. There were many small (500-1300 sq. feet) house mock-ups throughout the store that I thought were pretty cool. We purchased a lamp, a mixing bowl, some felt feet for the bottom of our chairs, small rubber balls for Eleanor and a few more miscellaneous house items. Eleanor rode patiently in her car seat until we reached the childrens section where she found a fascinating large stuffed bee!

After the IKEA, we met Bee for lunch in the mall. The IKEA is about 1/3 of the mall complex so you can imagine how big the rest of the Ikano Power Centre is. We are still amazed at how many (big, big, huge as Bee said) malls there are in KL. We spent some time shopping after lunch at the Cold Storage grocery for some essentials like diapers and cookies and Steph bought a new suit well suited for the hot and humid KL environment.

Later in the afternoon we ventured across Jalan Jelatek (Jalatek st.) to the collection of shops near the Setiawangsa train station. There are probably 1/2 dozen car stereo stores and numerous small electronic stores in the 3 blocks of shops. Stephanie found some nice Melamine dishes that Eleanor should find unbreakable, hopefully!
