Chinese Countryside
After our walk along the Great Wall, we took a scenic drive through the countryside. The terrain and appeared similar to regions near the Rocky Mountains, except there were small farm plots and villages everywhere!
Here is a typical village house that we passed. Most of the houses were constructed of brick with tile roofing. The winter climate is not all that different from Minnesota. Brrr!
"Sweet" corn was popular at hawker food stalls. We spotted many fields like this as well as fruit and nut orchards and the occasional wheat field...
The wheat was piled up high on the road to dry. We saw many farmers hauling, rotating and rearranging this potential road hazard!
