Butterfly Park

We had heard good things about the Butterfly Park. The park is located in the lake garden complex, not too far from the Orchid Garden. Traveling there proved challenging - several Taxi drivers in Chinatown (a few km from the park) were either unwilling to go that direction or unwilling to use the meter for the fare!

It was a cool day so we walked...

The 328ft (100m) flagpole rising from Merdeka Square is the tallest in the world, and marks the place where Malaysia achieved independence in 1957.

Eleanor wasted no time searching for butterflies...

Along the way we found some turtles. Lots and lots of turtles...

And some fish...

The butterflies Eleanor eventually encountered were remarkably "tame." And suprisingly large too!
